The war clouds surrounding the world left their place to the blossoms of Peace. ANZAC Day is the month of remembrance for both Australia and Turkey. April has become the month of mutual understanding and respect for Turkey and Australia as they have been sharing a common feeling from the outcome of an unnecessary war for 88 years. The repentance turned into a feeling of respect and a desire to know each other better, for both countries. These are the blossoms of Peace that binds the young and old at Gallipoli each year.
This year to mark the 88th Anniversary of ANZAC commemoration services, two young Australian ex-army soldier and a Turkish young man walked to Peace. They started on the 16th April from Istanbul and reached to Gallipoli on time for the ANZAC Dawn ceremony. The ANZAC Legacy Walk was sponsored mainly by FEZ Travel, that is doing a very good job in alternative tourism in Turkey, especially giving importance to the back-packers market.
I will be flying to Australia on ANZAC day and shall be thinking about peace, tolerance, humanity, a better world for our children, love and the joy of life. All this can be achieved by Tourism and Travel that brings people together by educating their minds by seeing other cultures and perspectives.
