The Gold Medal won by the Eyüboðlu High School Archeology
Club students for their project "Assos-Living City" prompted
me to use this title. We have this subject as our cover story. Eyüboðlu
High School is paving the way to
education and tourism. "Education Tourism" can grow to
be a branch of tourism with a promising potential especially for
Turkey. Our handicap in tourism is mainly language and international
communication on what Turkey has to offer. Establishing a Turkish
education exchange program would help in achieving this. The students
of Eyüboglu High School Archeology Club were also Awarded by
the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Education.Their dynamic
teacher,
Alev Selçuk, responsible for the Archeology Club deserves
a big applause and thanks, for leading these valuable students at
the right direction.
Meet at Culture has the UNESCO Third Round Table Meeting of the
Ministers of Culture. "Intangible Cultural Heritage - mirror
of cultural diversity" was the topic of the Round Table of
the Ministers of Culture. The Ministry of
Culture International Relations Department as a team, headed by
their G.M. Halil Hepdinç, hosted the conference at Çýraðan
Palace Kempinski Hotel with a very efficient organization.
Meet at Art has the "Harem" Ballet staged by Merih Çimenciler,
state appointed artist. The performance was very succesfull with
its music, costumes and setting. This performence deserves to be
performed overseas as
a colorful staging of Ottoman Palace "Harem" life.
Education and Tourism, Culture and Art, The Sabancý Museum,
Ottoman Rhamadan Kitchen Tradition, A Foundation for Peace and the
Binbirdirek Cistern in our
Meet at Archelogy section are our main topics in this issue.
